The Low Anthem Announce "Smart Flesh" LP Release Date: 2/22/2011

The Low Anthem has announced that their new album, Smart Flesh, will be released on February 22, 2011.  You can watch a very atmospheric video of the song "Wire" here.

The album's press release states that the majority of the songs were "recorded in a cavernous, vacant pasta sauce factory in Central Falls, RI."

The statement went on to mysteriously summarize that Smart Flesh will be rounded out by "paranormal hitchhikers, taut highwires, aircraft, swelling tumors, whirring machinery, deserted highways, mannequins, cremation, and formaldehyde."

I got a chance to see them last summer at the Newport Folk Festival, and they were excellent. You can listen and/ or download a superb recording of their performance on NPR

The band's other two excellent albums, Oh My God Charlie Darwin and What The Crow Brings are available on their website, record shops, and various online stores.
